The Castle Car Park and its surroundings will be transforming next year into a park with a children’s play area, Blue Badge parking, places for sitting and picnics, and paths for wandering. All of this in a part of York which holds an important and incredible history.
Join a tour to help us explore how we might tell and share the stories of York Castle.
- How do we help people make sense of the area and appreciate its significance?
- How we tell stories in really accessible ways so they capture the imagination of lots of different people?
- How can we capture people’s attention and offer them a memorable headline of a story to take away? If they’d like to know more, how can we give them a deeper experience?
- How can we use the landscape itself to help bring the area’s history to life?
- What types of text, landscaping and digital approaches might help?
Access: The route will be flat access using drop curbs. We will move at a slow pace. There is no seating on the route
